Autologon regedit windows 7
Cons: Only when you have an administrator account can you perform this method. If your PC joins the domain, the above method cannot be applied. In domain network, the login information is stored at server rather than on the PC. But there are still other ways to make it. Cons: Registry editor is very complicated and not easy for newbie.

The odd thing is, if I run the. I can't work out why the reg entries would change after they were entered, and I can see them entered. I have wondered if it is a UAC issue but have tried with that set at different levels, running regedit as admin first etc, and still get the same behavior.
Has anybody else come across this? Or got any ideas as to a fix? It isn't a major problem, but one of those little things that is so frustrating! Check your domain GPO. There is may be a contradictory setting in there that is erasing the auto login stuff. Since you need the kiosk style autologin, I would also put that into a computerconfiguration GPP settings here so that they are always applied as needed, and get reapplied if they are erased.
There are also additional variations regarding security of auto logins in the Technet forums discussed here. The security catalog files, for which the attributes are not listed, are signed with a Microsoft digital signature. Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

Also, when you set a registry value to one or zero, read the value carefully. Before you try the above configuration, note: I did not, repeat, not find this setting in a machine which had joined an Active Directory domain.
This law certainly applies to complex passwords, where you need to remember a combination of uppercase, lowercase, number and squiggles non-alphanumeric characters.
Let me give you an example of why I like the registry setting AutoAdminLogon, I was training a new Windows 7 course containing two delegates from hell. The other ingredient was a new technician, who installed the default American keyboard layout; even though we were in London England, where naturally our keyboards had the UK layout. The course started with the delegates logging on to their Windows 7 machines as Administrator with the password of P ssw0rd. Have you guessed the problem?
The was not on the keyboard where the delegates and I thought it would be, namely above the comma. Most of the first session was spent getting the 8 delegates just to logon. For the second exercise, they had to join a domain — that took the rest of the morning because after the restart they had to grapple with the complex password — again. Over lunchtime I edited the registry, my aim was to activate AutoAdminLogon and thus configure an automatic logon without delegate input.
