Manual transmission fluid 2005 hyundai elantra




















Since the trans fluid was due for changing at 60k we are at 54k had it changed. Seemed fine until last week. Bad News - Needed a new transmission. Not quite the Hyundai quality I expected. Noticed trans fluid was dark brown and smelled burnt. ATF was overheating due to blockage in the transmission. Had to remove the filter to access the blockage to remove it. Trans TCC valve is supposed to work in both 3rd and 4th all the time. Something got lubed and all is fine again.

Dealership wanted to take out transmission valve body which could entail removing entire transmission. Put in a bottle of Seafoam, and the problem went away within six kilometres. Flywheel resurfaced.

These were all replaced. Also, had the front brake pads replaced and the front rotors turned brakes were at the point of grinding on this trip which is included in the cost. Clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing was replaced.

Replacement transmission installed with new clutch and pressure plate. Manual transmission suffered catastrophic failure resulting in internal components exiting cast housing of transmission. Axle replaced. Noticed while mechanic was replacing clutch. Shop notified me that the front driver CV axle was broken and needing replacement.

Successfully replaced CV joint and installed new tires. Diagnosed as a leaking clutch slave cylinder. Shop replaced both master and slave cylinders. CV boot had a tear. Replaced boot and axle. Dealer replaced CV axle. Bleed clutch cylinder. I had the car towed in. The hose clamps had come loose. Had front axle including CV joint replaced as a unit. Replaced them.

Attempted adjustment first, no correction. Removed switch and jumped circuit while waiting for part. Boot had been worn previously, so shaft was exposed to dirt, etc. Diagnosed as a worn high-pressure power-steering hose. Replaced and the noise is gone. Another transmission issue prior to this was a harsh shift from 1st to 2nd gear, so there may have been a defect.

Clutch assembly replaced under 30day warranty. Transmission still has synchro issue - not dealt with. Seal replaced under warranty. Replaced transmission input speed sensor TSS. Car shifts correctly now. Took car back to seller and got money back! Took to repair shop they told me it would cost for new transmission possibly took it back to seller.

All solenoids and the input and output sensors were replaced. Dealership could not reproduce problem. Explained slight clicking noise while turning. Don't know how long it had been that way. Axle replacement was same price as repair so went with new axle. Dealer scanned the transmission codes-there were none and was told that the transmission was acting as the manufacturer intended.

Transmission replaced. Engine would stick before shifting with a bang. This is after doing regular maintenance, and having the same system completely replaced at miles I traded the car in at for a Camry LE. Mechanic recommended replacemnt of boot and left front axle.

Clutch master or slave cylinder malfunction. I had a TSB performed that replaced a broken plastic axle washer with a metal one. Lost the paddle shifter After previous repair of the transmission lockout on the ignition, the sport mode no longer worked. The car shifted hard into every gear up and down.
