Waving the flag would be the best bet, you'll spend more time trying to crack the word doc than if you were to just reset the PWs contained in it. I wanted to bump this and see if there was any more progress on this. For me, it's a file called "passwords" that I convinced my wife should be protected. You can guess what happened next.
